The International Competition 2008

The design idea is based on the prototype of a house with courtyards as a solution to address the indoor-outdoor relationship, fundamental issues of  privacy, cross ventilation and views. The construction is simple:  concrete floors and walls built with the traditional system of billet, plaster and lime; the  windows feature aluminium frames and wood shutters for  thermal protection. The wood structure helps filtering the  light, framing the views  of the courtyards. Solar panels are installed, generating hot water and heating the building.
